I got an invitation to join the circus too but I'm quite a distance away. I want to explore a little more before I settle down in one place I think. What will you be doing in the circus?
A little bit of everything! Props, costumes, all the footwork, that kind of thing. We're trying to find what suits me best. To be honest, I don't have a lot of talent.

Great! I'll need to let you know when I finally make it to the circus. It might be a while. I'm on my way to Violet City now and I'm not sure if I'm ready to battle the gym leader.
[For good measure she attaches a picture of her three pokemon huddled on the bed, they all look a tad concerned because Mai is a tiny bit upset but she's still asked them to smile so they kind of are. There is an aipom in the middle, a cherubi off to one side and an espurr.]
I haven't looked up any information about what evolving is yet! I'm looking forward to my first evolution and seeing what it's like. This little espurr followed me so I had to keep her.
OMG, you don't know about evolving? When your Pokemon fights a bunch of times, or touches a certain stone or item, they transform into a different type!
I haven't seen it happen before! I'll have to have a read about it later. It might be a while before that happens though because I'm not battling the pokemon as much as I think everybody else is.
You've got to tell me when you see it for the first time. I bet it'll blow your mind! I could show you what my Espurr evolved into, unless you wanna keep that a surprise and see for yourself!
I will have to let you know when it happens! I've never experienced anything like this before and it's so different here to anything I've known. I would love to see the evolution!
