(3) Video / Action for Violet City

Hello, viewers! This is Draculaura, posting another deadblog update! I'm proud to say that after weeks of training, and training, and training, and TRAINING, I've finally gotten that badge everyone told me to get!

[As you may or may not see, she's standing in front of the Violet City Gym, proudly holding the badge in her pale fingers. Eye Candy the Golbat and Pop the Drifblim are by her side.]

And now that I've gotten the badge, I can Fly anywhere I want! All right, guys!

[She holds onto Golbat's foot, and Drifblim's... tether?]

Fly me straight to Goldenrod, so we can shop until we drop! Away we go! ... Up, up, and away! ... Use Fly Attack!

[... Golbat and Drifblim awkwardly eye each other.]

... Come on, guys, this will make for a great post! Fly me away! Go! ... Please? ... Pretty please?

[The Pokemon shrug what counts for shoulders, mumbling in their own language. Who wants to explain about HMs?]

What do you mean? They're already flying, so they just need to fly away a little further! Right?

Not quite. You do need that badge for it to work, but unless they know the move Fly, you won't be able to use them to travel to another town.

It won't be, once you teach them Fly. You just need to get the HM for it first.

Were you able to get the HM to actually teach them the attack?

... What's a HM?

[WELP. Time to learn her a thing.]

It's stands for Hidden Machine. They're disks that if you...uh...break them on a Pokemon's head they'll learn the move if they're able to, and if you piece them together again you can repeat the process with a different Pokemon. Technical Machines are one-time use versions.

I know, it sounds really weird.

Isn't flying so weird around here?! Like, I was just talking about this not too long ago, it's totally crazy how a big huge Pokemon with wings can't just fly around without learning the move Fly! It's so weird!

I mean, it kinda makes sense, a little, but it's still just plain awful! I still haven't gone to Cianwood to get the darn move myself...

U-um, it's not so bad! I'm sure if you look around there's someone who can maybe lend it to you? Just so you can teach it to one of your Pokemon!

But it turns out there's this other thing that you need, and it's a pain in the ass to get to.

Y'know, D.L., I can't really help you with that "HM" thing, but I can probably breed you a Pokémon who knows Fly if you want one. Or point you to somewhere you can get one.

Maybe, um, you should throw something in the air for them to chase. And then, right when they start chasing it, you grab on so that you go in the air with them.

And then just keep throwing it until you get where you wanna go.
